Facilities Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

The Facilities Technician performs a variety of duties in support of general office/facility maintenance, and transportation needs. The Facilities Technician is responsible for the daily maintenance and repair of the building as well as any related equipment, property, machinery, or systems that may be a part of the facility. This position ensures Facilities that maintenance requests are completed in a timely fashion under the supervision of the Operations Support Manager.

 

Essential Job Functions

  1. Working knowledge of basic skills, but not limited to: plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywall, and any additional skills that pertain to the upkeep of the facility.
  2. Building maintenance to include, but not limited to: daily trash disposal, supply restock, general maintenance up-keep of the facilities.
  3. Maintenance of external facility to include, but not limited to: up keep of parking lot daily, check for roof leaks, window cleaning, check sprinkler system, and general maintenance.
  4. Responsible for the maintenance, collection and disposal of biohazard and sharps containers per OSHA guidelines.
  5. Transportation to include, but not limited to: driving the company car to pick-up/drop-off volunteers from locations as far north as San Fernando Valley and as far south as Irvine area, transporting of facilities furniture, patient snacks, etc., special circumstance errands such as picking up screening charts at Physician Network doctor’s offices, etc. (only pertains if included on company insurance).
  6. Generator test and maintenance.
  7. Storage area organization and cleaning.

 

Qualifications

Education

  • High School diploma required

Experience/Training

  •  General knowledge of facility maintenance and/or construction/repair skills and abilities
  •  Must have exceptional skills including, but not limited to:
    • Interpersonal, leadership and professionalism
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  •  Ability to lift heavy boxes and furniture
  •  Able to stand or sit for long periods of time, as needed
  •  Attend OSHA training annually

Certifications/Licenses

  •  Current California Driver’s License preferred, but not required
  •  Clean DMV record, proof of vehicle insurance may be required
